AN INTRODUCTION TO DENNIS

My interest in plants and gardening started at at the age of 12, I made a raised seed bed, bought a packet of Nemophila Insignis (Baby Blue Eyes) and have never looked back. On leaving school and several jobs later I began working in Horticulture for Local Authorities on the Wirral including a spell in a Cemetery and many years in Parks and Recreation grounds. I studied Amenity Horticulture and a Supervisory Certificate in General Management at Reaseheath in Nantwich, Cheshire.

In 1979 I joined Unilever at Port Sunlight Village, where I was responsible for a small team who maintained the trees, shrubs, flowerbeds and bowling greens. In 1995 Andy and Helen took over as new owners and asked the resident staff to stay on. I meet many people from day to day - tourists who visit the Village each year and can't resist a look at our Centre, local residents and neighbours who drop in by to purchase a gift, a little something for themselves, or with a gardening query. I hope that you will call in and say hello.
